Flash Bulbs

Throughout the years Flash Bulbs played a vital part in allowing the photographer to capture the moment. Though still playing that role for specialty photographers, today Flash Bulbs have taken on a new role as sought-after collectibles. Since production ceased decades ago for all but a very few large size specialty Flash Bulbs, they are in extremely short supply today. We currently have one of the largest section of vintage Flash Bulbs in the United States.

21-B (Foil) Synchro-Press 21-B (Foil) "G-E Mazda Photoflash Synchro-Press 21-B". - This is a very rare foil-filled Flash Bulb, intended for use with early-day color film. The bulb was first produced by General Electric in 1938. This bulb is so old there was no Guide Number printed on the packaging. Although unlisted on the package, this bulb had a light output of 50,000 lumen/seconds. There are however, suggested exposures with color film. There is no indication what film the exposure guides are for, but there is only one, indicating there was no choice of film speeds. All exposure information with the bulbs say they are for sheet film Screw Base. The bulb is approximately the size of a standard 100 watt light bulb. Click the picture to see a large picture, including the original sleve. The sleve is extremely brittle and has some damage. Damage can be seen in the large picture of bulb and sleve by clicking the picture. The bulb is good.
